We packed our trailer and left home early on December eighth on our way for a holiday to Knysna on the coast of the Western Cape. On the way we stopped for a break and fuel in Kroonstad and Bloemfontein before we made our over-night stop at the Carlton Heights guest farm in the Karoo. The next day we made one more fuel stop in Graaf Reniet and then drove all the way to Knysna via George. On our arrival we were welcomed by Barry and Helena who immediately took us to the beach.

In the course of the next week or so we spent a lot of time on the Knysna lagoon beach - swimming, paddle-skiing and building sand castles.

We also had plenty of time to visit two other beaches - Coney and Look-out beach in Plettenberg Bay. Chris managed to fit in time for a 12km bike ride through the Knysna forests. Unfortunately his rear tyre got a puncture when he was still only three-quarters of the way through. It was nevertheless an interesting experience.

Candice spent serious time catching a tan, but she also managed to arrange a two hour horse ride through the forest (no puncture).

On the way back fron Kynsna, shortly before our over-night stop at Carlton Heights, we paid a brief visit to the Owl House in Nieu Bethesda.
